EXFOLIATING FOAMING FACE WASH 60g

Formulated using Willowbark extract this face wash has a salicylic acid concentration of 5%. Great to support acneic and oily skin or when you need that gentle weekly exfoliation!

Use this product 1-2 times a week in a double cleanse routine if looking to exfoliate. 2-3 times a week for acneic & oily skin. 

This luxurious formula is enriched with a carefully selected essential oil blend of lavender, copaiba, geranium, sweet marjoram, lime, Clary, sage, funnel, and tea tree to offer a calming aromatic.

Salicylic is salicylic acid (BetaHydroxyAcid), which is a chemical compound that can be manufactured or found in Willow Bark.

It is oil loving (lipophilic) so it easily penetrates pores and begins to work on things like acne, inflammation, redness, fade hyperpigmentation over time, and help with an even skin tone and complexion. 

Often times it’s found in products as the isolated form which is recommended not to exceed more than 2% in the total formulation.

However Willow Bark Extract has been found to be non-irritating to the skin, even at a level of 100%, equivalent to 10% synthetic salicylic acid.

In vitro tests have shown Willow Bark Extract to have activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Propionibacterium acnes, the two strains of bacteria implicated in the formation of acne.

Willow Bark Extract has also been found to increase stratum corneum turnover more so than salicylic acid - 24% as opposed to 22%.
